Short menstrual could cause miscarriage

Hi, I am trying to conceive for past 5 year, but always end up in misscarriage. What could be the cause? the only abnormal thing i reaslize compare to others is i am having a very short period which hardly last for 2 days and mostly the bleeding turn to brown colour.
