HI,

I am married to a brahmin family. here i need to follow the following during my periods - 1) i have to sit and sleep on the ground 2) noboy should touch me 3) i should not be touching anything as im impure.

my husband is a research analyst but still he belives all this. I wonder why?? I never belived all this when i first spoke to my husband about it he said arrogantly that that our elders have made some rules its good for you if you follow them .

I need a solution as to how can i convince him that these are all tabboos and myths?

Unfortunately it sounds like what your husband is doing is crossing the line into abuse. Religion should not be an excuse to mistreat women; after all your period is crucial to the continuation of life on earth. Your husband should value you enough to walk with you through any difficulty, be it your own or what life throws at you both. If you love each other, then you will walk through this together, one step at a time. But never, ever accept being treated as less than a human being.
