I have been told that during periods I shouldn't dance,run or play any outdoor games as they are harmful for the body..is it true???

No, nothing like that. What really matters is if you are in pain. Cramps can be very bad, you can judge for yourself what you want to do. If you feel tired or are in pain then don't exert yourself. I even swim during my periods, half an hour or more. Even play. I only avoid activity when I get bad cramps.

experienced women suggest, it's better to avoid intense/ strenuous physical activities during periods. For some body types workout at this time of the month, can cause excessive bleeding/ extended days of bleeding/ cramps,... So we should watch out for our own body signals, before a woman can get into dancing/ workout.

You may dance, run and play outdoor games during your period. These are not harmful for your body. In fact they are good for you. Now go out and have fun!
